It wasn't pretty, actually it was a squeaker. It takes 80/100 to pass, plus you have to earn 80% of the possible points in each protection exercise.
Havok earned 80.5/100, with 25/30 in both the defense of handler and face attack. We've still got a lot of work to do before the FRI, but considering I've only been training him for about 4 months now, and he had a lot of things we had to work through before we really got our training momentum going, I'm proud of him. His biggest issue was just being distracted, all the people lining the fence, out on the field, etc. The vast majority of his training lately has been happening at home in our front yard, all those new people all over the place were a distraction for him, he wasn't sure if he could go visit or was supposed to be paying attention to me. Actually Havok was just supposed to be along for the ride, Mac was supposed to trial. But Mac is injured, and Havok had a good open field, and Kadi just can't pass up entering a dog, so ...
I'll have some photos of the trial up on his webpage soon, the URL is http://www.dantero.com/dogs.php?id=190
